Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Continuously update and enhance product knowledge to provide informed recommendations.
  • Learn about the nutritional information of various cat food diets and be able to assist customers with dietary recommendations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries about products, purchase history, and store offerings with clear and accurate information.
  • Identify customer needs and direct them to appropriate products, offering guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Recommend additional products when appropriate, upselling items that complement their purchases.
  • Maintain organized store displays, ensuring shelves are stocked and products are properly arranged at all times.
  • Regularly create and update a list of out-of-stock inventory items to ensure timely restocking.
  • Learn and follow opening and closing procedures to maintain store operations efficiently.
  • Perform regular cleaning tasks, including wiping down counters, dusting, sweeping, and mopping to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Complete daily task lists to ensure the store’s smooth operation.
  • Handle all financial transactions, including cash and card payments, with accuracy and efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create positive and lasting customer experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers effectively.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to keep track of store inventory and ensure displays are organized and stocked.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of basic retail operations, including financial transactions and cash handling.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve store goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills, including knowledge about products and store procedures.
  • Prior retail experience is preferred, but not required.
