The Assistant Manager supports the Hospital Director and Lead Veterinarian in overseeing daily hospital operations, ensuring efficiency, financial responsibility, and a high standard of patient care and client service. This role is a key member of the leadership team, balancing administrative oversight with hands-on support to staff while fostering a positive, collaborative, and service-driven hospital culture. Approximately half of this role is dedicated to assisting the Hospital Director with operational planning, financial review, and scheduling oversight.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations Support
• Support the Hospital Director with daily operations, planning, and performance initiatives
• Assist with accounts receivable review and financial tracking
• Support hospital goal setting and process improvement
Scheduling & Labor Management
• Assist with employee scheduling and labor coordination
• Support development and oversight of doctor schedules
People & Client Experience
• Support onboarding, training, and staff development
• Reinforce exceptional client service standards
• Assist with client concerns and service recovery
Compliance & Administration
• Support OSHA, DEA, and hospital policy compliance
• Assist with documentation accuracy.
Note: This role will be half admin responsibilities and the other half in various departments depending on the daily needs.

Skills & Qualifications
• High school diploma required
• CVPM preferred but not required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Veterinary industry experience required
• Basic knowledge of veterinary medicine
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
